Well, that was quite a week! Lydia, Brad and Liberty came up to visit for New Years Eve and ended up staying an extra day due to a huge snow storm (yes!). We had tons of fun. I always love getting together with my sisters, we get really weird! They brought two blow up mattresses and we made our entire living room a bed, so basically, it was great. Scott took the reigns and was the lead tour guide of the city. There were still plenty of things we saw that Scott and I had yet to see, so it was a first for us as well, which made it even better!
The first night, we toured Mid-Town. We took a train into Chelsea and went to the best burger place you will ever eat, named 'BRGR'. All grass-fed beef, and it is amazing. Brad cleaned all of our plates and begged to go back the rest of the trip! Then we made our way to Times Square, which was insane (especially before New Years). We obviously made a stop into the Disney Store. Then, arguably the best part of the trip, was when a street magician named Stuart Edge asked if we would be in a card trick for his Youtube Video. OBVIOUSLY! Since Liberty was the only single lady, she was his target. He explained to her that if he got the trick right, she would have to kiss him! (She has never kissed a boy, so this was a big deal!) After a fantastic card trick, the video made it on Youtube as a part of a compilation and now has almost 4 Million views!!! On the last night here, as we were in this little taco joint, a guy walked up to Liberty and asked if she was the girl from the Stuart Edge video!! Needless to say, Liberty was on cloud 9.
After Times Square, we saw Rockefeller Plaza and other Christmasy places that make you all warm inside. The next day, we decided to stay away from Midtown, and went to Little Italy, China Town and finally, the Financial District. The forecast said it would be 36 and Sunny, well....it was NOT. We froze so much! But, we saw Wall St, the Stock Exchange, I heckled some socialist hippie students in a plaza by yelling stuff like 'Get a Job!' 'Get off you butts and Stop Whining!' It was great. We walked by the famous Bull Statue. Lydia and I made sure we got some good luck ;) hehe. We tried to see the 9/11 memorial, but due to the massive volume of visitors, we would have waited in line for hours, so we decided to keep that til warm weather. The weather really thwarted several plans. We had also intended to take the Staten Island Ferry past Lady Liberty, but instead, we gazed upon her 'shadow' in the distance from Battery Park at Sunset. Yet another thing we have to look forward to in warmer weather.
It was a great day and we wrapped it up with celebrating New Years in our cozy apartment with home made Crepes, Sparkling Grape Juice and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Best way to end the year!

Probably one of the most successful places we took them, was an adorable Gelato place called Amorino's. They loved it so much, we went twice!
