The second part of their visit was just as fun and just as cold! We spent New Years a little closer to home. We visited Columbia University, to show them where Scott works and let Liberty take a peak, since this was one of the places she applied. We walked through Central Park South and spent the rest of the day doing a little shopping. We walked up along Central Park up to the East side to get a taste of the macaroons from Laduree. We were soo sad when we realized it was closed! But, that didn't stop us from peering in the window to see the gold flaked goodies. Our sadness was soon washed away when we passed the ever so Wonderful, Kate Spade New York, shop. It was sooo worth the walk.
Each day it seemed we had a little less energy and our 'all day' excursions turned into 'several hour' excursions, but we loved spending the evenings/ late nights hanging out in the apartment eating snacks and watching movies. Their last day here, we got word that there was a huge winter storm sweeping through the midwest headed straight for NYC. So, they decided to stay another night! Which I was super pumped about. Scott had to work, so the rest of us spent our extra day in the warmth. we visited The American Museum of Natural History. For $17, you really get your money's worth of 5 floors of exhibits! I'm definitely taking Scott back soon! (Now I want to watch Night at the Museum). That night the snow started to come, which looked magical, even though it felt horrid on our faces. But, we braved the wind and snow and visited Amorino (again!) and ended the sight seeing with a stop at Grand Central Station. Just a stellar end to our sight seeing adventures!!!

Of course, I took WAY too many photos, so I've collaged them AGAIN.
It was such a great week. We loved having family in. They were our firsts guests, and it definitely helped make our apartment feel more like a home. We were sad to see them leave on Friday morning. Luckily dad had put on new tires, so they were able to plow right through the 7 inches of snow that was dumped by Storm Hercules. Due to the storm, Scott got the day off (yay!!) and we spent it walking through Snowy Central Park and just enjoying our day together. (What a great start to the weekend!) The day ended on a fantastic note, because my 'main' Christmas gift FINALLY came in the mail. Scott bought me a Kate Spade Purse!!! I almost died. It's absolutely gorgeous, I had no idea he had this up his sleeve!! He blows me away everyday with how wonderful, godly and caring he is. (he is obviously wonderful even without buying me a cute purse.) Thanks Babe love you forever and always!! (photos will follow soon. hehe).
Thanks for stopping by!!
Lauren Marie
