#DeHartsTakeManhattan: Part 2

Our first two days were great. Between eating and coffee drinking, we all had loads of fun people watching. We spent so much of our time laughing with each other as people with questionable fashion sense walked by. Our last day was chock full of walking and a whole lot of awesome. We started off with Sunday morning church. Our church is on the East Side so we walked to church through Central Park and had a great morning of worship. We were excited to introduce them to our friends as well. It was a bit blustery the first part of the day, so we took refuge in our favorite Mexican restaurant, Cilantro.

After some seriously great coffee at Dean and Delucca and a failed attempt to make it to the Top of the Rock (I mean seriously, who wants to pay $29 per person to stand on the top of a building???). We meandered through Central Park. The sun came out and it warmed up, which was perfect. We did, however get caught in a huge and very quick rain shower at Bethesda fountain. Luckily, we took refuge under the bridge. That moment ended up being one of my favorite moments of the day. There were already 2 men playing some gorgeous classical music under the bridge and when the rain started everyone joined them and listened as their music echoed through the tunnel.

Before we headed home, we made sure to get some authentic New York bagels, and let me tell you, they were incredible! Scott and I hadn't had any yet, but I heard that Absolute Bagels was one of the best in the city. We WILL be going back in the future. Although our feet were resisting, we walked the Columbia campus to show them where Scott spends most of his time.

Even after all of the walking and sight seeing, it was so nice to just hang out in our apartment and laugh and talk for the rest of the night. The last classic New York experience we had, was ordering in Chinese. Even though the restaurant is 1 block away, we still had it delivered (and then had a HUGE discussion on math....apparently we just can't add and subtract money. ;) haha). It was the perfect way to end a perfect weekend.

too cool for school
I don't think Cannabis does what you think it does, honey...

Central Park South

We saw a newly married couple, they were precious.

This was sooo cute! She was mimicking everything the ballerina did!

Right before the rainstorm

Probably my favorite shot from the weekend.
I love these two.

Monday morning came way too quickly. They caught a cab right outside our apartment and I watched them drive away to the airport. Both Scott and I agree, the four of us need to hang out more often.

Quite possibly the best conversation
to come from the weekend.

Love always,
