On a particularly gorgeous Tuesday, we hopped in the car and spent the morning with Mimi picking Peonies. About 45 minutes south-west of where we live, there is a little blip on the map, called Williamsport, OH. It sits between Circleville and Washington Courthouse. There, on the side of a winding country road, is what I'm sure is an actual slice of Heaven. Blossoms at the Bend is a U-Pick garden ran by two retired sisters who live next to one another. They open up their beautiful gardens during the warm months and invite people to come, walk around for as long as they like, and pick Peonies and countless other gorgeous flowers. For only $3, you get a bouquet of 5 Peonies and as many other flowers are you can fit!
We arrived during the last week of the Peony season, and nobody else was there to visit, so we had the place to ourselves. We took a good half hour just walking around and enjoying the blooms and watched Levi explore, then we picked our shears and cups, and went on the hunt for the perfect blooms. Big storms had come through a few days before, so it was a bit of a hunt to find some that were untouched, but they were all still gorgeous and smelled delicious. By the end, we found created some gorgeous bouquets.
After two hours in our little paradise, we safely packed our flowers, and promised each other this was going to be a yearly tradition.
