On Sunday afternoon, we got the news that there would be a blizzard of epic proportions hitting the north east within 24 hours. By Monday there were press conferences, the mayor urged everyone to go home early, and they even closed all transit by 11pm. In preparations for the 2-4 feet of snow, Scott got off of at 3pm and didn't have class. The entire city literally shut down. Nothing was open and everything closed on Tuesday as well. With all of our spoils from the overcrowded and quickly emptying grocery store, we spent the evening inside, baking a chicken and waiting for the blizzard. We waited, waited and waited some more. We finally gave up and went to bed. At 7 am I woke up for a minute and peeked outside...and.....a WHOPPING 3 INCHES!!!! WHAT?! Where were the feet of snow? In an instant, my dreams of feet of snow and staying in doors for a couple days with my guy, were completely smashed. BUT, all hope wasn't lost. We still had all day off from work and school. We stayed cozy, made lunch, took a snowy walk, and had game night with friends to top off a perfect day.
Scott made me make a snow angel!
So I threw a snowball at him.
One of the poor, discarded trees from Christmas.
Well, the upside to not having feet of snow is there wasn't really an aftermath. Last year the snow kept piling on and never melted. The city was pretty gross and difficult to walk through during most of the winter. Now can go back to the 40 degree weather I was enjoying??
