Grandma Jo comes to town!

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hosting my mom for a few days. It was her 50th birthday and she wanted to celebrate by spending it in NYC with me, Scott and her new grandson (in baby bump form)! We had a marvelous time. Of course, it was freezing outside, but that gave us every reason to stay snuggly in bed watching movies and drinking coffee. We really had no where to be and we were completely ok with it.

She also came bearing gifts, and throughout the weekend the gifts kept on coming! Our baby now has some precious onesies, leg warmers and the most precious book and his first Jellycat plush!

We surprised her with a 3D/4D ultrasound for her birthday present. We went to Goldenview Ultrasound in midtown. It was such a wonderful experience. Our tech, Roxyann, was the sweetest. She spent so much time with us and we were able to get some wonderful views of our baby. He really posed for us. We were the only customers in there the whole time, which made it seem more personal, like they were there just for us. They gave us a roll of black and white photos, a nice selection of some higher quality color photos and we each got a DVD of the whole thing. It is definitely something I will treasure forever.

He yawned for us!

At one point, we saw dimples! It looks like he will take after his daddy in that department. :)

We have one happy grandma!!!

On Friday, we met Scott for lunch at Le Monde, our favorite french restaurant.

We stopped in my favorite children's bookstore, Bookculture.

We had tea at Alice's Teacup. Such a cute little place! Definitely get their scones!

The book and Rocky the Fox that mom bought at Bookculture. Aren't they precious?!

This is the slew of things she brought us!
The knit coat was mine as a baby, she actually bought the leg warmers at the ultrasound, and the Navy onesie was a gift from aunt Liberty!

The sleepers and onesies have foxes on them! Isn't that precious?!

We had such a wonderful time together. She was supposed to fly out on Sunday, but a big snow storm came through right as she was supposed to leave. Her flight was cancelled as she was on her way to the airport. Luckily, she was able to just have her Uber driver turn around and bring her back. After 3 more delays on Monday, we had lunch at a local Italian restaurant and she ended up flying out Monday evening, a whole 24 hours after her original flight! I felt lucky to have a little extra time with her.
