NYC Bucket List: St. John the Divine

During our last month in New York, we were incredibly busy. Not only was Scott finishing classes, but we had to pack our apartment, attend graduation, move, oh and keep a baby alive during all of it. But, despite the craziness, we wanted to enjoy our last few weeks in the city. So during a few spare days, we decided to cross off a bunch of Bucket List items. Our first stop, was St. John the Divine. This cathedral is only about 30 blocks from us, but we kept forgetting to go! So we finally went, and it didn't disappoint. It is an anglican church, and the biggest one in the world. It's also one of the most famous churches in NYC. The interior is quite grand, but the grounds are spectacular. It is this little oasis in the middle of Morningside Heights, and even though it's well known, there aren't a lot of tourists. If you're ever in the big apple, head uptown and visit. Plus, after you go, you can cross the street and pick up some Insomnia cookies, or head up a few blocks and tour Columbia University.

Well, this is creepy.

The cathedral was gorgeous, but the grounds were to die for.
This is the "Peace Fountain" There are several depictions of the fight between good and evil
around it.

Noah's ark

These signs were all over the grounds. Pretty creative way to post the rules.

I had never seen a pure white peacock before, he was gorgeous.
