The days were slipping by, we were running out of NYC time, and we still wanted to see and do so much! On a cloudy Sunday after his graduation, we decided to make a marathon day to knock out a bunch of stuff. I was so bummed the weather wasn't super cooperative, but it was fun to say goodbye to the east side of town. We also enjoyed our last day at Apostles NYC church. It was so bittersweet, we loved the music and preaching, and it was where we found all of our friends, but we hadn't been as dedicated as we wanted to be. With our most difficult school semesters, winter, and a baby, it was SO hard to get there every Sunday, we found ourselves tuning in via podcast most Sundays after Levi was born. But, it was good to be back for one last Sunday.
After church, we ate at Shake Shack, L'aduree for some Macaroons, and then walked down the UES to the the Roosevelt Island Tram. It was something that I had been wanting to do for 2 1/2 years so we knew it was now or never. Roosevelt Island is a cute little island in the east river between Manhattan and Queens. There is a subway stop for the locals, but there is also a more scenic tram, and it's so fun and just a the cost of a metro card swipe!
Once we got onto the island, we walked to Starbucks and ate Macaroons in the grass, there wasn't much more to do, so we rode back. With our feet back on Manhattan concrete, we headed to the lower east side and visited the United Nations. Politics aside, we really wanted to see all the flags. We get there, and NONE OF THE FLAGS WERE FLYING! We were so bummed, that's most of the reason to see it! But, it was neat to see none-the-less.
After the United Nations, we walked through Midtown and through Grand Central Terminal, and to the NYC Public Library, we hung out with the stone lions out front, then we headed home to relax our feet and think about the fact that we needed to do some insane packing, and we only had 4 days left!
Pretending that this brownstone is ours.

This is how Levi feels about no flags.

The next day, we would again shirk our packing responsibilities and spend the day at the Brooklyn Bridge with friends!
